Naaga Abhishekam is a powerful ritual performed to appease the Naaga Devatas (Serpent Deities), especially for the removal of Sarpa Dosha, Kaal Sarpa Dosha, and ancestral curses (Pitru Dosha). The abhishekam is offered to idols or images of Adi Sesha, Naga Raja, or Naga Devatas found near sacred trees (like the Arasa or Vilva tree) or temple shrines.

The idols are bathed with:

  • Milk to calm negative planetary effects
  • Turmeric water for protection and fertility
  • Tender coconut water for life-force energy
  • Honey and curd for peace and family harmony

Devotees chant Naga Stotra, Sarpa Suktam, and mantras like “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasukiya” or “Om Sarpa Devaya Namah” during the ritual.

Benefits:

  • Removes Sarpa Dosha, delays in marriage, infertility, and health issues
  • Brings harmony in family and relief from ancestral karmas
  • Offers protection from unseen negative forces

Best days: Ayilyam Nakshatra days, Shashti, Naga Panchami, and Sundays.
