📜 Significance:
Garbhdhan Sanskar (literally “conception ritual”) is the first of the 16 Hindu Samskaras, performed to bless the couple for healthy progeny. In modern practice, it’s often observed symbolically and merged with Seemanthonayan (baby shower), which is more popular and celebrated during pregnancy.

Seemanthonayan is performed during the 6th to 8th month of pregnancy to bless the expectant mother and her unborn child. It ensures the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the mother, and seeks divine protection for safe delivery and the child’s future.

In Maharashtra, it is known as Dohale Jevan (दोहाळे जेवण) and is celebrated joyfully with music, rituals, and family blessings.
