📜 Significance:
Basant Panchami marks the arrival of spring and is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, art, music, and learning. In Maharashtra, this day holds special significance for students, teachers, artists, and musicians who invoke Saraswati’s blessings for intellect, creativity, and academic success. The yellow color dominates the celebration, symbolizing prosperity and energy.

🗓️ When It’s Performed:

  • Celebrated on the Panchami (5th day) of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Magha (January–February)
  • Pooja is best performed during the morning hours, especially during the Saraswati Panchami Muhurat

🛐 Who Can Perform:

  • Students, teachers, artists, musicians, and families
  • Can be performed at home, in schools, colleges, music/dance academies, or temples

📦 Puja Samagri (Items Required):

  • Idol or image of Goddess Saraswati

  • Haldi, kumkum, white sandalwood paste
  • Diya (lamp), agarbatti, camphor
  • Fruits, sweets (especially kesar halwa, boondi, and laddoos)
  • Panchamrit for offering or abhishekam
  • White rice, paan, supari, betel leaves

🕯️ Main Rituals:
