🌺 Ganesh Chaturthi Pooja – The Birthday of Lord Ganesha

📖 Introduction:

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a grand Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom, beginnings, and prosperity. It is observed on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada (August–September).

Devotees install beautiful clay idols of Ganesha in their homes and public mandaps and worship Him with great devotion and festivity for 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 days, concluding with immersion (Visarjan) in a water body.

🕉️ Spiritual Significance:

  • Lord Ganesha is known as:
    • Vighnaharta – Remover of obstacles
    • Budhdhi Pradata – Giver of wisdom
    • Mangalakarta – Bringer of good fortune
    • Prathama Pujya – First to be worshipped before any ceremony

Ganesh Chaturthi signifies new beginnings, cleansing of karmic blocks, and invoking divine guidance on the path of dharma.

🌿 Preparations:

🏠 Before the Pooja:

  • Clean and purify the house and pooja area.
  • Set up a small altar or raised platform (pedestal) where the idol will be placed.
  • Decorate with mango leaves, banana leaves, durva grass, and flowers.
  • Keep a clay or eco-friendly idol of Lord Ganesha, decorated with kumkum, turmeric, and flower garlands.
