🛕 1. Preparation
- Clean and decorate the puja altar with red and yellow flowers, lights, and auspicious symbols.
- Place the idol or image of Goddess Durga in her fierce form (Mahishasuramardini).
- Arrange the Kumaris (young unmarried girls) for Kumari Puja.

- Idol or picture of Goddess Durga
- Red flowers (hibiscus preferred), mango leaves
- Kumkum, sandalwood paste, rice grains
- Fruits, sweets, coconut, betel leaves, nuts
- Incense sticks, diya (oil lamp), camphor
- Holy water and Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar)
- Items for Kumari Puja: turmeric, vermillion, cloth to adorn the girls
