
Maha Shivaratri is one of the most significant Hindu festivals dedicated to Lord Shiva, the destroyer and transformer among the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva). It is a night of deep spiritual significance, worship, fasting, and meditation, symbolizing the overcoming of darkness and ignorance.

- Maha Shivaratri means “The Great Night of Shiva”.

🙏 Maha Shivaratri Puja Vidhi (Worship Procedure)
🛕 1. Preparation
- Clean and decorate the puja space and Shiva Lingam with flowers, leaves, and lights.
- Place the Shiva Lingam (symbolic form of Lord Shiva) on the altar.
🪔 2. Puja Samagri (Items Needed)
- Shiva Lingam or idol/image of Lord Shiva
- Bilva (Bel) leaves – most sacred offering
- Water, milk, honey, ghee, curd, and sugar for abhishekam (ritual bath)
- Flowers (especially white or blue)
- Incense sticks, diya (oil lamp), camphor
- Sandalwood paste, kumkum, rice grains
- Fruits, sweets, and other offerings
- Rudraksha beads (optional)

- Begin with Ganesh Puja to remove obstacles.
- Perform Abhishekam of Shiva Lingam with water, milk, honey, curd, ghee, and sugar while chanting:

- Offer Bilva leaves, flowers, and fruits.
