🌼 Nirjala Ekadashi Pooja
(Ekadashi Fasting with Complete Abstinence — For Divine Grace and Liberation)
🌟 Introduction:
Nirjala Ekadashi falls on the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) of the waxing phase (Shukla Paksha) in the month of Jyeshtha (May–June). This Ekadashi is considered the most powerful and spiritually rewarding of all 24 Ekadashis observed in a year.
“Nirjala” means “without water”, and as the name suggests, this fast is observed without food or water for 24 hours, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that by observing this one day of Nirjala Ekadashi with devotion and sincerity, one gains the benefits of observing all 24 Ekadashis of the year.
🙏 Spiritual Significance:
- Fasting on Nirjala Ekadashi is an act of self-purification, penance, and surrender to Lord Vishnu.
- It is observed to seek divine forgiveness, removal of past sins, good health, prosperity, and ultimately moksha (liberation).
- It is especially recommended for those who are unable to observe other Ekadashis throughout the year, as it is believed to compensate for all.
🎯 Purpose of Nirjala Ekadashi Pooja:
- To cleanse the body, mind, and soul through disciplined fasting
- To cultivate detachment from material desires
- To express deep devotion to Lord Vishnu
- To attain punya (spiritual merit) and divine grace
