Ganesha Vratham, a sacred ritual observed to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, lord of beginnings, and the deity of wisdom and success.

This vratham is traditionally performed:

• On Sankatahara Chaturthi, Ganesh Chaturthi, or Tuesdays

• Before starting important ventures

• To overcome difficulties, clear doshas

• Vinayaka Chaturthi (Bhadrapada month)

• Tuesdays or Fridays

• During tough periods or before major events

ITEMS REQUIRED

• Lord Ganesha idol or photo (clay, silver, or framed)

• Modakam (or any sweet)

• Banana, coconut, fruits

• Betel leaves, betel nuts, camphor

• Kumkum, turmeric, sandal paste

• Red flowers (especially hibiscus)

• Incense, diya (lamp), ghee or oil

• Akshata (turmeric-mixed rice)

• Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar)

• Vrat story book (Vratha Katha)
